WEB DESIGN

I first learned about web development long before I knew what Photoshop was. I learned HTML by practicing raw coding in Notepad. Now, I use Dreamweaver in order to make the process quicker. I have expreience in several different programming languages including HTML, CSS, PHP, Javascript, CGI, and Actionscript for Flash.

I AM JEFF SMITH.com V2

I AM JEFF SMITH.com V1

This is actually the third version of this sister site to Vita Opus!  The only thing was that the other two versions were so god awful that I chose not to include them in my portfolio!  So this time I decided to put some thought into the design.  I wanted something that matched the oddness and sort of "chaotic?" world of the videos on the site.  The construction theme just worked with it really well with it I thought.

VITA OPUS.NET V3

Simple.  That's all I wanted.  Something that was straight forward and that got to the point.  Straight up online portfolio.  Lack of creativity?  No, I wouldn't say that.  It's more of an excess of productivity.  There should be no confusion as to what this site does.  That was exactly what I wanted.

JEFF DIGITAL V2

Before VITA OPUS was born - there was a site called JEFF DIGITAL. This layout I created for a class, so really it was a forced inspiration. But sometimes those can be the best! I took what I knew how to do aleady and just made it better in this layout. As you can see, the pop-up window is still the same as before, just a little bigger. There's a much grimmer feel to the layout, which I wasn't a fan of. The whole Seven Deadly Sings thing was a bit bizarre as well. But, nonetheless, it served it's purpose.

JEFF DIGITAL V1

This was the first time I experimented with raw code, instead of having Dreamweaver to back me up. This also introduced a lot of weird little things, like javascript pop-up windows! It was really tiny, which I hated. It also didn't really serve as that great of a site. I wanted to make it better, and with the future update...I did.

THE MUSIC MADE ME DO IT

This site was huge for me. I had never dealt with php code before this and I somewhat understood anything beyond HTML. I designed it as a chooseable theme for registered users for this lyrics site -- that's still running!
